It's an understatement to say that we are in the midst of a technological revolution. It has been going on for years and will continue for many more. So here's a thought-starter to get your week off to a roaring start. Although I don't have any ulterior motives, this isn't a rhetorical question -- I'd really love to hear your thoughts so be sure to chime in.
What one disruptive technology would you say is going to have the greatest impact on business over the course of the next few years?
A few points of clarification: (1) note that I say "disruptive" technology, that is technological change that significantly challenges the status quo; (2) disruption isn't necessarily a negative term, although it certainly can be for industries, companies and workers that refuse to or are incapable of changing with the times; (3) note that I am asking about "business," not specifically media or marketing. Of course, I'm not excluding media and marketing, but this is an invitation to think big and ponder change outside of our own immediate industry.
So have at it. What do you think?
