One of the great things about an "open invite" collaborative blog like Social Media Today is that anybody who wants to can sign up and add their RSS feed to our Autopost function and have their posts be considered for publication here. Â Five to 10 people now do this every day. We don't know they've joined us until we see the posts. Â As part of the registration policy, they attest that the posts they are submitting are their own work and they have the right to syndicate it on our blogs. In the more than two years that we've been publishing SMT, we've never had a problem...until now.
We have been informed that the post Build a Web App--Everybody's Doing It By Jeffrey Easton, which we published on July 6, 2009 was actually written by Hakki Yemeniciler and appeared that same day on the blog molecular.voices, neither of whom gave their permission for it to be syndicated here. Â
We have taken the post down and banned the name Jeffrey Easton from posting here again. Â Our apologies to Hakki Yemeniciler and molecular.voices for having unknowingly used a post that was submitted under false pretenses. Â To everyone who reads SMT: Â please inform us of any problems of this nature you might encounter and we will deal with them immediately. Â
