It's time to throw out some links to relevant blogs and conferences/websites that can help you improve your business, either with creative thought, training, or just connecting to the right person. During these trying times (sounds like an opening to a novel...hmmm...'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness; it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity...' you get the drift - Charles Dickens said it best in his Tale of Two Cities) knowing how others are managing can be a big help as we build our marketing plans for 2009.
My focus is on helping YOU. With that in mind, I'll tell you today that there are changes afoot for this blog - not so drastic that you will no longer recognize Lip-sticking, we'll still be kewl and red and focused on you, but... we'll be doing some exciting things designed to make your goals as a successful business owner more achievable. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, it's my good fortune to come across great opportunities worth sharing. Such as:
My friend Jack Yoest. While I have not had the good fortune to have attended his Management Training, I would do so in a heartbeat - and hope to do so, in the future. Here's a short description, with a link for more info:
"Other types of training teach time-management - to manage the individual's individual time. Instead, we teach you, the manager and influencer, not to manage your time, but to leverage your time, and the time of your team, to get more done; both inside your organization and with outside customers."
I can only say, WOW! Everyone needs this training. How about you?
Not convinced? Visit Jack's YouTube Video... "Promotions - to increase value to your organization and to earn more money."
Over at Holly Buchanan's site (she's another Marketing to Women Online expert), she's written a fab post on the recent Startup Princess Marketing to Women Online Conference, which I missed. Dang! Holly offers some great insight into this group. The Start Up Princess content on Twitter is worth a few minutes of your time.
- Holly also talks about Word of Mouth Marketing advice from Barbara Jones.
- Learn about SEO on press releases from Janet Meiners.
- Get good insight from Gabrielle Blair on how to monetize your blog.
- AND...check out the advice from Gwen Bell about Twitter.
I learned a little something from Holly's notes, and you will, too.
Don't forget to comment on Holly's post - I mean, be polite and join the conversation. You won't be sorry.
I'm stopping here because...I gave you a lot to click to and think about. You know my main goal is to offer great content and connections to the movers and shakers in the marketing to women online world, and sometimes that means connecting with the guys who do leadership and WOM and business training. It isn't the gender, folks, it's the results. These links will get you results.
Enjoy.
