Last week we talked about what you can successfully outsource with your social media marketing and what you shouldn't. We talked about outsourcing scheduled updates for continuity of online marketing, of outsourcing finding new followers and friends, and the actual branding of your custom pages.
The most important factor in determining what to outsource is to consider, "Is my time being maximized by doing this?" If the answer is no, then you should most likely consider outsourcing that task. Continuing with last week's conversation, here are some other examples of things that very easily (and successfully) can be outsourced:
Analytics of your social media presence. This is a great but tedious metric for determining the success of what you're doing on all social media networks. There are so many neat tools to measure the success of your efforts, but this is time consuming and most people just don't have time for it. Consider outsourcing this to a qualified social media expert and get a weekly or monthly report so you can have more time to act on the results rather than tracking down all the results.
Blogging. Unless blogging is your business, rather than just being a part of your business, this is a good choice to outsource also. You can very easily have original content written for your blog by a qualified social media expert, and even have them post it to your blog for you. Again, like the last week's post, your participation and engagement is key. You still need to make sure that what's written is in your voice and it's a good practice to at least add a paragraph of your own to the writing, or even better, have one post a week that is yours, written by you. But it is a known fact that blogs and websites that have current content consistently rank higher on the search engines, so the more you post, the better.
Targeted Article Marketing and Backlink Building. These are two important but very time consuming things that can easily be outsourced. The article marketing can increase your backlinks by having your bio and website link on each article posted. Backlink building can also be outsourced to maximize your exposure to the search engines. It's important, however, to outsource to a reputable social media expert. Knowing what is being put out there in your name, and where, is as important as knowing where your kids are.
Whatever, if anything, you decide to outsource, keep in mind that you need to engage in a complete trust relationship with your social media expert. Check them out prior to engaging them-ask for references and examples of their work. Any reputable social media will be happy to share both their references and their work to prospective client partners.
