SAP's Top 50 Big Data Influencers on Twitter
This list from SAP shows off the 50 biggest big data influencers who have made a name for themselves on Twitter. SAP made the list based off of a number of different criteria, including the influence of the twitter user as measured by Klout, the type of tweeted topics, number of tweets, and number of followers. The list includes some notable names and companies, such as Ben Lorica, a chief data scientist at O'Reilly Media; Manish Bhatt, who gives news updates on big data, Hadoop, and NoSQL; and IBM Big Data, which regularly talks about many of the challenges that come from trying to handle big data.
HadoopSphere's Top Big Data Influencers
HadoopSphere has put together their own list of the people, organizations, themes, and products that are influencing the conversation surrounding big data. Part of the list includes those who are the biggest influencers on social media. This portion of the list includes DJ Patil, a former LinkedIn executive who is the current VP of Product at RelateIQ and is also co-credited with coming up with the term "data scientist"; Gregory-Piatetsky Shapiro, the founder of Knowledge, Discovery, and Data mining conferences; and Tweet Chat, which engages thought leaders in big data and drives much of the conversation surrounding it.
Qubole's Top 20 Hadoop Influencers on Twitter
Qubole has put together a list of some of the biggest Hadoop influencers that can be found on Twitter, ranking the top 20. The rankings are based on data collected from Buzzsumo. One of the great things about this list is that it is updated every month, so you know you're getting the most current list of the top Hadoop influencers. The rankings at the time of this writing include Arun C. Murthy, a co-founder of Hortonworks; Joe Stein, the founder of Big Data Open Source Security LLC; and Eric Sammer, an engineering manager for Cloudera.
Forbes' Top 20 Influences in Big Data
This list from Forbes is the result of a big data survey where influencers are ranked based on reach, resonance, and relevance. The reach factor comes from the influencer's total audience size. Resonance is a measure of the activity generated when the influencer speaks on social media. And relevance is how often the influencer talks about the key subjects. The list includes Bob Gourley from CTOvision, David Smith of Revolution Analytics, and Klint Finley of SiliconANGLE.
