Business blogs are cursed.
About 173,000 new blogs are created every day. Less than 20% will go on to grow up, mature and live a meaningful life. In fact, they won't even reach adulthood. They'll die before they reach six.
Here's a horrifying piece of data I learned at a business blogging session at a marketing conference a year or so ago...
According to IBM, 77 percent of all businesses have a blog, yet 85 percent of those blogs have five or fewer posts.
Creepy, no?
An abundant amount of research spells out how effective blogging can be for growing your business, but most companies just don't take it serious enough to gain any traction. A long list of problems plague business bloggers, but the leading killer is simply giving up too soon. Perhaps you could call it blog suicide.
Let's try to be strong now as we gather to pray for another fallen friend, Web Log, aka "Blog."
