Wanna' know who's making the most watched video content across social channels? The team at video intelligence platform Tubular have started up a new, monthly listing of the most watched video creators across Facebook, YouTube, Vine and Instagram to "shine a spotlight onto the brands and independent creators who are generating the most video views across some of the world's biggest social video networking sites." The listing provides an interesting overview of who's winning in video content, including data on total views for the month, engagement stats and new followers gained within the period.
While the leaders here are no big surprise, what's of more interest is the extended data Tubular provides as part of this listing. If you click through to the original source listing, hosted by Tubular, you can click on any of these creators to get data on their social reach and views by network, as well as notes on there "Most Recent", "Most Watched" and "Most Commented" upon videos on YouTube, as well as stats on their Facebook and Vine videos.
This is great data to have, as it gives you a roadmap, of sorts, as to where you should be looking to see what's generating the most interest on each platform, and what's resonating with platform-specific audiences. On top of this, Tubular also offers channel-specific video listings, showing you which creators are leading the way on each:
Vine
This, again, highlights where video creators should be looking when considering what content to post on each platform. While inclusions from celebrities and brands are not likely to offer a heap of insight in this regard (as their popularity is not necessarily defined by what they post), the content from popular creators and publishers can definitely help guide and inform your video strategy, particularly on Vine and Instagram. If you wanna' know how to maximize those platforms, these are the people that are doing just that.
Overall, there's some great insights to be gained from Tubular's listings, and while much of this data is accessible via the platforms themselves, it's great to have them collected and presented in one place, making it easier to use the data and investigate further as necessary.
