Remember the word trust? In case you don't the word trust means having a firm reliance on the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing. So I ask again remember trust? Most of us who own or work within the small business community know that trust is the true bottom line. If you have a team, customers and partners you can trust then the business game is mighty easy to play. Lack those trusting relationships and watch out.
So if we know that why are we struggling so much to use those old-fashioned if you will trust networks to build our businesses now that social networking (basically a trust network on line) is all the rage? Do we fear that our trusted network will become someone else's? Are we realizing we don't have "that big" of a network of people we trust (in other words hardly seems worth it to get a social network up and running for 4 people you trust as an example) or are we just thinking "I have what I need this is not for me?"
Whatever the reason it's wrong. Sorry to be so blunt but summer is over and it's time to be blunt. Bad economy, uncertain US national political scene, global trade pressures, talent shortages - pick your crisis the bottom line is business...well it's getting more complicated...which is why each of us needs our trust network. And if you get your network online in a simple forum where you can trade ideas, thoughts, help each other and connect people you trust to the people they trust...well that game of business? It just might get easier again. Give it a try and let me know how it works.
