Is Social Media a Must for B2B Sales? To quote Uncle Al from the old Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In show: "You Bet Your Sweet Bippy."
Todd Schnick, one half of the SalesChaosTV team, doesn't mince words on this topic. "It's essential."
OK, so maybe it's not everything, Schnick add, but "it is a human interaction ... sales is a result of a relationship. Social media is a great way to initiate relationships with people."
He says he's sick and tired of people who say their customer base isn't on Twitter, on Facebook, on Google+. "I call phooey on that. ... maybe not every prospect is there, but trust me, there are 750-850 million reasons why Facebook is important to every organization."
Dan Waldschmidt, the other half of SalesChaosTV, does manage to get in a few words around those of Schnick in this episode.
As more and more customers go to the Web to search for answers, he says, it's smart to have a social media plan. "You don't have to do anything, but if you're smart and you want to grow your business in 2012, it's a great way to do it."
