From January 4 - January 10, 2016, U.S. brands and properties captured 569 million total actions (likes, shares and comments) from Facebook posts. Powered by Shareablee data, the top brand on Facebook for each respective industry is shown in the ranking below. BuzzFeed (Media Publisher) topped the ranking with nearly 3.6 million actions, followed by WWE (Sports) with more than 3.4 million actions. The wrestling league's most engaged content followed updates of WWE Superstar John Cena's surgery. BuzzFeed scored the most Facebook shares of any brand in the ranking, with shares accounting for 27% of the media publisher's total Facebook actions (compared to 18% for the average brand). BuzzFeed's most-shared Facebook posts were funny and relatable video memes. Lenovo (Consumer Electronics) also boosted engagement through shares, which grew 314% over the previous week. The brand's top posts introduced its latest product innovations at CES.
Of the top performing brands, Starbucks (QSR) saw the highest growth in Facebook actions over the previous week at more than 25,000%, most of which came from its post introducing the latte macchiato.
