As summer heats up in New York City we've been extremely busy in the L2 offices. Hot on the heels of last week's Prestige 100 Facebook IQ rankings, we're sending out our first ever Financial Services Digital IQ Study ranking the digital competence of 27 retail banks and credit card issuers.
More than two-thirds of brands in the study ranked Average or above, placing them above beauty and luxury brands as digital innovators. The sector's particular strongpoint is in mobile. More than four-fifths of financial services brands have branded apps and 41 percent have already adopted SMS banking.
All in all the industry could use a stronger approach to Facebook, but across the digital universe the Financial Services industry could have a strategy worth banking on.
