Once you have written your survey the next step is to get it filled in. Simple! Well it's easier said than done. People are apathetic when it comes to getting them to do something when there is no direct and immediate benefit to them. This is why many people decide to incentivise survey completion.
Here are my top 7 tips to get your online survey completed by as many people as possible.
1. If you have a mailing list of existing customers who are appropriate targets for the survey send out an e-mail to them.
2. Add a link to the bottom of all your e-mails asking people to fill in a survey.
3. Add your survey to your business newsletter.
4. If you use any type of social media share it through Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc. You can share it repeatedly over a period of time. However don't just copy the same text change it around. Different copy could work better for you.
5. In Facebook you can add an extra tab and embed the survey there making it easier for people to fill in.
6. Ask your fans, followers and customers to share it for you.
7. Make sure there is an automated thank you sent out. Add the option for people to share it with their friends.
Good luck and don't get disheartened if you aren't getting responses as quickly as you would like. If you keep at it and are consistent you will get there! Do you have any ideas to help spread the word about your survey and get it filled in? Would love to hear them in the comments below.
