At last count, Jacob Morgan's post called
Google's Chrome Will Know Everything About You had been viewed 1595 times by Social Media Today visitors so we thought we should find out more about this guy and make him Blogger of the Week. So we did just that.
"First and foremost I am a people and idea lover," he says. "I started my marketing blog (
Jacob Morgan's Blog on Social Media, Technology, Marketing and Life) seven months ago in order to bring the two together. The business of marketing is all about relationships and social media is the best relationship building medium that exists. Social media is no longer a question of "if," it is a question of "when," for we are in an evolutionary state of marketing. The choices are simple really, either you evolve or you disappear."
Morgan is currently the chief relationship and communications officer for
Hirank, a team of technical SEO consultants which handles technical SEO/online marketing strategy for startups, mid and enterprise sized clients from around the world. Morgan also provides online marketing strategy and social media consulting services to private clients and is the CMO/Founder of a startup still in stealth mode.
He is also the creator and "Marketing Alchemist" of the Search Marketing Salon, a group of seos, sems, social media experts, entrepreneurs, and online marketing professionals from around the world. The goal of the group is to host meet-ups so business professionals can meet each other in person and build connections with each other offline.
"People get involved in social media for various reasons, mine is simple; I love meeting with and connecting with new people," he says. "I love new ideas, comments, and opinions that I receive from various folks around the world, it's my natural high and I can't get enough. Through social media I have been presented with new friends, job offers, and other opportunities that would otherwise not have be possible."
