The use of voice search is on the rise, and while there's still some way to go before it overtakes traditional text-based queries, the increasing use of tools like Amazon's Echo, Google's Echo and even voice search on phones is moving at a faster rate than you likely realize.
According to research, there are over a billion voice searches already being facilitated every month, while Google voice search queries have risen some 38x over what they were a decade ago. Analysts also estimate that 50% of searches will be voice-based in the near future, with smart speaker devices, currently in around 13% of homes, projected to be in around 55% of households by 2022.
As noted, it'll take time, but the trends are undeniable - further underlining this, check out the below infographic, from SEO Tribunal which is full of voice search stats and data.
