These days it seems like everybody and their mama has a facebook account.
If you have a blog and a facebook account, you should consider creating a facebook page for your blog/website/services/product/business.
It can help you build your brand and connect with many people outside your friend circle.
I'm new to facebook pages and I am working diligently on getting people who like the page to engage with me.
It is slow going, but I will not give up. Almost everyday, I have at least 2-4 people who engage with me in some sort of way.
I value the likes and the quick thank yous that my fellow page members give.
I've been looking for ways to improve my page, but the most important thing is the engagement.
Here are some ways that you can have more engagement on your page.
#1 Post pictures
Pictures are worth a thousand words. Page members are quick to like photos and also comment on them. Put up some photos and see what happens.
#2 Write real messages on your wall
Often times, I will visit a page that I like and all I see are blog posts. That gets boring very fast. Take the time to write your own personal messages.
It is okay for you share your blog posts, but you should also share beneficial and helpful information that the members will find useful.
#3 Reward your members
Find brilliant and creative ways ways to acknowledge those who engage the most.
Social @Blogging Tracer acknowledges the member of the month. This is a good way to get your members to be more active.
#4 Have contest and giveaways
If you want to get people stirred up, tell them they can win something for free. You will be amazed by the number of people who come out of hiding.
#5 Create a welcome
Make this the first thing that your prospective page member sees. It is always good for you to greet your guest. They will remember you even more.
Conclusion
There are many ways that you can engage your page members. In the beginning it will seem like no one is paying attention to what you are sharing, but as time goes on, people will become more engaging.
Don't give up and keep sharing.
