In a new episode of the All the Social Ladies podcast, Carrie Kerpen speaks with Anne Swift, CMO of Nuts.com.
From Inventor to Head Marketer
Approach to social at Nuts.com
What primary metric do you measure as an e-Commerce company?
"We're always looking at the impact of digital campaigns - this is true across all of our digital channels. As a marketer, one of the exciting opportunities - and also one of the biggest challenges - is attribution across different devices. For example, mobile vs. desktop and being able to follow a customer as they change devices. Nobody has solved that puzzle at this point but it's an exciting opportunity moving forward."
Who is your target audience?
"That really depends. We have 3,000 different products, and all of these products appeal to different types of people. We tend to have a very broad range of interests and demographics to target. When we launch new products, we love to share this and we'll produce a range of content that interests all of our different communities. Given how broad our community is and how broad their interests tend to be, even for any given customer we tend to share relatively broad content that would appeal universally. It's a very interesting and big challenge from a marketing standpoint to have 3,000 different products, all of which appeal to a lot of different people in a lot of different ways. It's such an interesting opportunity for us and social media is a great place to surface some of the products that people might not know about."
- "Our boxes are really cutely branded and people like to put kids and animals in them and take photos! We love to see that kind of engagement."

- "Our approach to marketing is to be helpful and not obtrusive."
