Social media gives up and coming politicians the opportunity to build a local and then a national audience. The really innovative ones are using social media in ways that provide value to constituents and voters. That was just the beginning.
Atlanta Councilman Kwanza Hall is one of those new innovators making social media a fundamental part of his role as a public official. You may remember him as the official who startled politicians across the country in 2009 when he utilized his personal Twitter account to get help for a woman who was in distress.
For this reason as well as so many others, I'm thrilled to announce that the Councilman will be joining myself and the rest of the Social Media Today community in Atlanta this September for the Social Shake-Up.
I will be hosting a #SMTnews Google Hangout with Councilman Hall to discuss his ideas for using social media in his public life this coming Monday, July 22 from noon to 1pm, ET.
