Powered by Shareablee data, the top brand on Instagram for each respective industry is shown in the ranking below. The ranking was topped by NBA (Sports League) with nearly 23 million Instagram actions edging out National Geographic which captured 20 million actions. Top posts for the sports league featured NBA greats Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry and Michael Jordan, who last week proved more popular than narwhals, tortoises and bears.
Victoria's Secret (Fashion) scored third in the ranking, and had the second-highest actions per post behind National Geographic, averaging nearly 280,000 thousand likes and comments per Instagram post published during the week of February 15 - February 21, 2016. Victoria's Secret's Instagram engagement was driven by photo posts of its Angels on the beach and promotions of its #PantyParty sale.
Of the top-performing brands, Primerica (Financial Services), a newcomer to the ranking, saw the highest growth in Instagram actions over the previous week with a 556% increase in likes and comments driven by a 767% increase in Instagram posts, topped by photos of the company's awards ceremony and outing in the Bahamas.
