I had to talk to Ramon Ray before the this year. That's because I wanted to know what to look out for at the beginning of next year. Ramon, for the very few of you who do not know, is one of the leading voices in small business technology. He's the publisher of SmallBizTechnology.com, and is the co-organizer of one of the best conferences of the year - The Small Business Summit.
Ramon and I did a rapid fire 10 minute conversation (ok it's actually 12 minutes...) on things small business folks should be on the lookout for in 2010 with respect to technology. We touch on the ever increasing importance of mobility on small businesses productivity, social media productivity, the impact vendor consolidation will have on us, and the role CRM will play next year. We also talk about the impact of cloud computing on small businesses, and Ramon talks about "consumeration" and how that will impact how we do business.
Productivity tools mentioned include:
- Tweetdeck
- Seesmic
- NutshellMail.com
- Gist (look out for upcoming conversation with Gist founder T.A. McCann)
- Xobni
- Batchbook
- Zoho
- Intuit Customer Manager

And be on the lookout for the 2010 Small Business Summit coming up in March - check the video out below for a taste.
