For the week of August 1 - August 5, 2016, U.S. brands and properties captured 631.6 million likes and comments on posts published on Instagram. Powered by Shareablee data, the top brand on Instagram for each respective industry is shown in the ranking below.
National Geographic (Media Publisher) ranked No. 1 with 18.5 million Instagram actions. Top posts featured wildlife, including a dolphin breaching the water in front of a rainbow sky, a giraffe family and close up of a polar bear. Victoria's Secret (Fashion) came next in the ranking with nearly 4.8 million actions, led by photos of multiple models. Anastasia Beverly Hills (Consumer Goods) ranked third with more than 4.7 million actions. Its top posts featured its eyebrow and eye shadow products.
Of the top performing brands, Starbucks (QSR) saw the most growth compared with the previous week. It generated a 26% engagement improvement driven by a 20% increase in Instagram posts. Top posts included photos of summer drinks Lemonade Shaved Ice and Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato.
