This morning I got a call from a marketing director at a large destination/resort, she said she saw my published posts on LinkedIn and really enjoyed my insights on social business. This is the most effective type of advertising/marketing based on influence, and authority. Too many folks, without truly harnessing the power of their LinkedIn, think that just having a profile filled out 100% will get them LinkedIn leads & jobs.
I've found that LinkedIn has probably brought me 7-10 leads/clients in the past year. This might not seem like a lot but for my business this is making a real impact on our bottom line. Therefore, I'm more dedicated than ever to understand and harness the power of LinkedIn.
Rather than just keep my LinkedIn strategies to myself, I figure the more folks that know my tips will help provide more success and results for everyone using LinkedIn to network. There is one tip that I use to be different with my content & community on LinkedIn... SHARE!
- Sharing Top Posts - this is something that I do every morning, and it pays off big time! First thing I do is go to the activity feed, and search by the Top Updates. This will populate the most commented, liked status updates based on your network. Then I browse down the feed until I see a post that is compelling that also has a good amount of likes, and I re-share it. The key to re-sharing is to keep the post simple, I typically suggest 1-4 words max then share to the public. That is the other key part, share with everyone, not just your network. The most important action is that I do this every day... including holidays, weekends!
I've had posts liked on and commented on from way back when I started doing this a year ago, and I have 365 posts that are circulating finding new viewers weekly. This is the most crucial part of being unique on LinkedIn, and it's vital for the success of your outreach efforts. I truly believe that this strategy of re-sharing will truly drive you more business, leads, and connections in 2015!!
