For the week of December 28, 2015 - January 3, 2016, U.S. brands captured 1.4 billion likes, shares, comments and retweets on content published on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Powered by Shareablee data, the top U.S. brands across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for each respective industry is shown in the ranking below. National Geographic (Media Publisher) was the top overall brand in the ranking with nearly 29.7 million total actions, driven by underwater photography on Instagram from contributing photographer @daviddoubilet. NBA (Sports) scored the number two spot with nearly 16.8 million social actions, led by Instagram posts with comical captions and videos of fans. Anastasia Beverly Hills (Consumer Goods) came in at number three with nearly 5.2 million actions, driven by posts featuring eyebrow makeup tutorials and photos.
Of the top performing brands, Western Union (Finance) saw the most growth in social engagement over the previous week with a 9% increase in social actions from their #CreatingConnections and #ShareTheLove hashtag campaigns on Facebook.
