For the week of July 25 - 29, 2016, U.S. brands generated 58 million actions (likes and retweets) from tweets published on Twitter. Powered by Shareablee data, the top brand on Twitter for each respective industry is shown in the ranking below.
Bleacher Report (Media Publisher) was the top brand in the ranking with more than 783,000 Twitter actions and WWE (Sports) checked in at No. 2 with nearly 708,000 actions. Bleacher Report's most-engaged content was about the U.S. Men's National Basketball Team with its top tweet featuring a dunk from DeMar DeRozan while WWE celebrated the women's tag team victory at WWE Battleground. Xbox (Consumer Electronics) finished third with more than 74,000 actions and generated engagement with a sweepstakes to give away an Xbox One S Gears of War 4 console from San Diego Comic-Con.
Discover Network (Financial Services) experienced the most week-to-week growth, generating 136% more engagement. That growth was driven by links to news stories about mobile payments and communication between retailers and their customers. Starbucks (QSR) generated the most engagement per tweet, more than 7,552 actions. Starbucks' top content was led by a GIF comparing two of its macchiato drinks.
