For the week of May 9 - May 15, 2016, U.S. brands and properties captured 802 million likes and comments on posts published on Instagram. Powered by Shareablee data, the top brand on Instagram for each respective industry is shown in the ranking below.
National Geographic (Media Publisher) topped the ranking with more than 24 million Instagram actions, driven by bird, monkey and manatee photos. NBA (Media Publisher) came in second place with more than 16 million likes and comments on Instagram, led by posts celebrating Steph Curry's second consecutive MVP award.
Anastasia Beverly Hills (Consumer Goods) was number three in the ranking with its top post featuring eyebrow makeup inspirations. Victoria's Secret (Fashion) scored the second-highest actions per post behind National Geographic, averaging more than 379,000 likes and comments post published during the week of May 9 - May 15, 2016.
Of the top performing brands, Walt Disney World (Travel) saw the most growth in Instagram actions over the previous week with a 5,429% increase in likes and comments driven by a 3,175% increase in Instagram posts, driven by photos of Cinderella's castle and the #InvictusGames2016.
