This is a big day for our entire Social Media Today community. Today we mark a new chapter in our nearly three-year history...you'll notice that there's a whole new look, and you're going to see a lot more announcements about what and who we are and where we're going. But today, just take a few minutes to reacquaint yourself with your favorite site for finding the best news and views about social media and web 2.0 anywhere.
The look is different but the philosophy is the same. We're still an open, collaborative blogging platform where anyone can add his or her blog and be part of the most dynamic conversation about social media on the planet. We still believe that online community, conversing in an open, transparent and intelligent forum, is the best form of new media - call it social or simply "media." But with our new platform we'll be better able to integrate into other platforms, like twitter and facebook, and to anticipate the many new ways that our members are connecting online.
You can also comment more easily, and if you are logged in, your comments are automatically approved. Your profiles, your blog feed, all should be where you left them and you can access them once you've reset your password. Our sister sites, Sustainable Cities Collective, SmartData Collective, The Customer Collective and Governing People, have already migrated to our new platform and the others, MyVenturepad, TheEnergyCollective, TheSocialCustomer, will be moving over this week.
Like any proud parent, I'd like to point out that our new look represents a lot of hard work ... especially on the part of my business partner and personal hero, Mark Lazen, our CTO and all-round operational chieftain. And I'd really like your feedback. Send me all your thoughts - good and bad - to [email protected].
