LinkedIn has announced a range of updates that are designed to help creators maximize their content efforts, including expanded brand sponsorship opportunities, updated insights into content performance and the option to offer one-on-one consultations in the app.
First, LinkedIn is testing pre-roll ads on creator content. These will enable marketers to place their ads alongside topically relevant creator and publisher videos without the need for established creator partnerships.

The offering will also enable creators to earn money from their content by giving them a portion of any ad revenue for promotions shown alongside their content.
The option builds on LinkedIn’s existing BrandLink and Thought Leader Ads, which provide similar placement opportunities alongside creator content.
The difference in this case is that marketers won’t need to have a pre-established partnership agreement in place. Instead, creators can sign up to make their content eligible for brand promotions. LinkedIn is also adding direct monetization for creators.
LinkedIn said this is in the early testing stage, with further information coming soon.
LinkedIn also added new search tools to its Creator Marketplace, which will make it easier for brands to find relevant creators to partner with.

The new search filters will enable brands to filter creator discovery by audience focus, expertise, preferred content formats and more, giving advertisers additional targeting options to add to their creator outreach and strategy.
LinkedIn is also re-adding the option to pin comments under posts.
As per LinkedIn: “Authors can now pin helpful comments, making it easier to highlight valuable contributions and guide the discussion.”
LinkedIn actually made this available before, with the company rolling out pinned comments to some users in 2022 before shelving the option shortly afterward.
But now it’s coming back, which will give users an easier way to guide discussions, and highlight a specific response below their post.
LinkedIn is also rolling out a new option for Premium subscribers, which will allow them to offer free or paid consultations directly from their LinkedIn profile.

As explained by LinkedIn VP of Product Management Ora Levit, the new Advice Sessions option will enable verified experts to offer paid 1:1 consultations, and charge for these directly on LinkedIn using secure payments.
Though users will have to verify their profile to offer this.
In an accompanying post, LinkedIn VP of Product Oscar Rodiguez said that verification will be a requirement for the offering, in order to give members more confidence in who they are connecting with and learning from.
LinkedIn will look to build on this with a new experts showcase page, which should make it easier for users to find relevant experts to consult with across a range of categories.
Advice Sessions are available now for U.S. hosts, with expanded access coming soon.
LinkedIn is also rolling out an updated profile insights dashboard, which will provide data on content performance, monetization opportunities and more.

In addition, the platform is rolling out private notes, which will enable users to keep tabs on connection details. Meanwhile, Premium All-in-One subscribers are getting new options to help them boost their content reach in-stream.
A range of potential opportunities that could help to keep creators more aligned to their LinkedIn feed.
