Wal*mart staff are blogging at a new blog called Checkout.
The blog is authored by staff working in the areas of gadgets, games and sustainability - almost as varied as the content of your shopping trolley.
I am sure Wal*mart have learnt from their previous foray into blogging. Here are three recommendations I have to further enhance the Wal*mart Checkout Blog for visitors and consumers:
- The Wal*mart Checkout blog should have a link to their comment policy on the side bar
- The Wal*mart Checkout blog should have a clear link to customer feedback link and phone number their provide for people to get in touch either in the sidebar or header or footer so consumers can easily contact you direct if they don't want to leave a comment
- by adding an email subscription the Wal*mart Checkout blog would be likely to get more people subscribing to their feed - remember most people still do not know how to subscribe or manage feeds and having an email update with new articles is more likely to increase subscriptions.
The Wal*mart Checkout blog says that the bloggers are in roles that help people save money and live better. I am sure an outcome is that the blog will also encourage consumers to spend money though - for example all their links for the December DVD movie releases go back to their catalogue of course!
