You might recall last year the articles I wrote about Barcamp Dublin and Ireland's first social media conference, Podcamp Ireland. Well now we have CreativeCamp which will be taking place on Saturday 8th March, 2008 at The Parade Tower, Kilkenny Castle, Kilkenny being organised by Ken McGuire and Keith Bohanna.
CreativeCamp follows the same format of the previous Barcamp's and Podcamp Ireland in that it will be free to attend. CreativeCamp provides a forum where if you are interested in the internet and technology you can come and share your experiences and network in the real world with others who share you passion.
CreativeCamp is actively extending an invitation to musicians, artists and others in the arts who want to explore the use of the Internet and new media to promote their work and communicate their passion.
And furthermore, CreativeCamp have developed a strategy with their sponsors Blacknight to try to make the conference carbon neutral with the planting of 12 trees native to Ireland.
You can register to attend CreativeCamp online and if you would like to speak on a subject you are passionate about or perhaps want to host a discussion forum you can register your interest here.
Some of the sessions already planned include:
- Outsourcing your development workload to free your creative time
- Branding an Arts organisation from the inside
- GPS For Developers
- Writing and promoting your book with social media (I'm leading this session)
- How To Blog Like A Boy
- The Art Of Software Development
- Work in Progress: Creating a vibrant, connected Arts Community in the South East
- How Friends Communicate
- Panel Discussion: Women & Technology (I'm faciliating this session).
If you are interested in social media including blogging and podcasting and how the Internet and technology can be used to achieve your professional goals, I do hope you will put the 8 March 2008 in your calendar - CreativeCamp is sure to be a great forum for learning, sharing and fun! Oh and did i mention - it's FREE to attend!
