After the market closed today, Facebook released key figures from the first quarter of 2013. Facebook revenues were down $130mm from Q4 2012 from $1.86 bn to $1.46 bn, though that repeats similar results from Q4 2011 to Q1 2012 when revenues were down $73mm. Overall they've added another 54 mm monthly active users from 1.06 bn to 1.11, or just slightly less than an adding an Italy's worth of users, though only 13mm of those new users were from North America and Europe. They've also added another 47mm active daily users, again with the majority coming from Asia and emerging markets.
On the mobile side, Facebook is up to 751mm monthly active users, which reflects the second consecutive month where mobile use outweighed desktop or laptop. Additionally, $375 mm of the total $1.25 bn ad revenue came from mobile, up from $320 mm.
