Have you found yourself missing posts in your news feed on Facebook from friends or Pages that you used to see?
Recently Facebook changed the news feed setting to provide us with two options:
- Show posts from: friends and Pages you interact with the most
- Show posts from: all of your friends and Pages.
I recommend that you take a moment to check your settings for your news feed.
To edit your general preference for posts you see just follow the steps below:
1. At the top of your home page when logged into Facebook at the top right of your news feed, click "Most Recent" to expand a drop-down menu
2. At the bottom of that menu click on "Edit Options"
3. You will then see a menu that allows you to show posts from "Friends and Pages you interact with most" or "All of your friends and Pages."
4. Choose your preferred option and click "Save."
If you decide to see content from all of your friends and Pages but then find you are getting content you don't want to receive, of course you can always 'un-friend' someone or 'un-fan' a Facebook Page.
Alternatively you can hide a Facebook Page or a Friend from your - just click the "x" that appears when you hover over a story you want to remove from your feed. Then, select an option from the drop-down menu where you can choose to:
- "Hide this post" which will remove the individual post from your news feed
- "Hide all by (person's name)" which will remove the post and prevent all future posts from that person
- "Hide all by (application's name)" which will remove the post and prevent all future stories from an application a friend is using
- "Mark as Spam" which will remove the post and help keep your News Feed clear of similar stories in the future.
