We all drift. We don't mean to...it just happens. Whether it is from our original intentions of why we set up our business, our intention to focus on our goals or even an early morning exercise routine. We are human, right? We are just born to drift!
My business confession is that drifting is something that I have to work on each and every day.
What if every time you sat at your desk you asked yourself not what must I do....NO....what if you asked yourself...
What is my intention today?
Think how powerful that would be...think about how what we chose to do would be different? It may not be different in what we do, it may be just different in how we do it.
Intention is our anchor which stops us from drifting. Intention is how we focus, how we achieve our goals and make the world a better place.
So why do we ignore the intent of our work?
We can blame time. We can blame the to do list. We can blame all kinds of things, however the blame lies at our own door. We are restricted with time and therefore the choice comes down to us how we choose to invest that time.
Intention has to be at the centre of our decision making process.
Our intention should be at the heart of everything we do...if we intend to increase sales then we need to look at how we can motivate people to make that choice. If we intend to be more social then we need to look at the intention behind our tweets to give more.....etc etc
Are you drifting? Is your business drifting? Is it time you made this business confession?
If so go back to the intent behind your life or your business. Reconnect with that intent and ensure that the substantial part of your day is filled with dedicated actions to achieve that intention.
Sounds simple - well, life is...it is merely ourselves that try as hard as we can to make it complicated!
