Meta's looking to make it easier for businesses to tap into WhatsApp as a customer connection and support channel, with the launch of a new process that will enable brands to utilize third-party artificial intelligence tools to set up automated agent profiles and responses in the messaging app.
The new WhatsApp Business Tools MCP enables marketers to connect their AI chatbot tool of choice into the WhatsApp Business Platform. From there, users will be able to describe the kind of agent and/or functionality they want on WhatsApp, and their chosen tool will provide the systematic process requirements to create it.
The WhatsApp Business Tools MCP enables creation across a range of in-app functions.

That means that if a brand wanted to create a marketing template to send to customers on WhatsApp, they could do so through conversational requests.

The process aims to make it easier to create various business workflow processes on WhatsApp without requiring in-depth coding knowledge.
This could be worth considering. WhatsApp usage has been steadily rising as more people turn to private online discussion, as opposed to public engagement on social media.
That could facilitate more direct engagement with customers. In addition, providing automated workflows and response systems may help to improve performance through always-on systems that can process queries.
