Like any 'techie', I like to play around before I settle with a program or web space. Over the last two years here at AgencyNext I've spent some time experimenting with Blogger, Wordpress, TypePad, Moveable Type and others. Of the free, open-source software, I have found Wordpress to be far and away the best. With literally thousands of developers around the world working around the clock to include their 'two cents', it is software that is tough to rival
Then, one day a couple weeks ago, I stumbled across a comment on LinkedIn which recommended Squarespace, a web publishing platform. After signing up for the free trial and tinkering around some more, I was excited and astounding with the results.
Yes, Squarespace is a paid service, but it's worth it. The flexibility, automatic SEO techniques, superior RSS handling, outstanding analytic reports and rock solid reliability have allowed us to easily create/change designs and seamlessly insert additional content.
Nevertheless Squarespace is so much more than a blog. It's an online web site building tool par excellence. It has generous bandwidth, image and file hosting. Excellent technical support - friendly, personal and they have always responded within hours.
Stay tuned...we plan to have the switch complete this weekend.
