Some very cool branded content popped up this week from a few unexpected sources. Not only is this content unique and original, it is coming from companies new to the branded content game. It just goes to show that creative content marketing can be beneficial for just about every business.
Puma - Dance Dictionary
To promote the launch of its new fragrance, Puma has created a "Dance Dictonary" that encrypts words into dance moves. Visitors to the special Dance Dictonary microsite are invited to create messages that are then converted into unique dance moves and edited together to form an entire sentence. The resulting videos are available for sharing on Facebook, Twitter or via email. This is a great example of very original content, and the highly sharable nature of the video makes it a great campaign.
Napoleon Games - Run the Village
In order to generate interest for their online gambling website, Napoleon Games created an Ad you can bet on. This very engaging and dynamic piece of content called "Run the Village" is half advertisement, half game and it's pretty entertaining. The premise is simple; you pick one of seven very unusual athletes to win a crazy race through a village. I am not actually sure what happens if you win because my athlete didn't make it very far, but I certainly invite you to try this digital experience out for yourself!
Glad - Trashbag Tent
It's music festival season once again! Glad has done something very unique and unusual to promote its brand at music festivals across the country. The company has created disposable garbage bag tents that function as sleeping quarters for campers at music festivals and then turn into trash receptacles when the festival ends, so campers have a quick and easy way to help with the daunting task of festival cleanup. The campaign's impact has been furthered by promotion through the company's social media channels with a case-study video. Case studies, whether in the form of a video, a written report, or a microsite, are a great way to approach branded content.
That's it for this week! I hope these examples have inspired you in your own branded content efforts! As always, if you have any suggestions as to branded content you think I should cover, please feel free to comment below.
