Last Sunday I taped (webcammed? digitally-videoed?) this episode of bloggingheads.tv with Time.com's Washington editor, Ana Marie Cox.
Among the many smart points she made was that, thus far in this election cycle, there has yet to be a Drudge-driven scandal, or scandalette:
I liked Ana's Drudge notion so much I essentially quoted her on it in my column this week, which I wrote on Monday.
So: yes, on Sunday, that was me saying there's been a scandal vacuum in the campaign. yes, I wrote my column on Monday, as in "just as the Obama 'just words' flap hit, and a couple of days before the New York Times dropped this piece on John McCain."
This proves the ongoing correctness of one of Ana's other points, that pundits have had a remarkable degree of wrongness when predicting outcomes this time around.
(I will once again reference my prior and present mea culpa on this topic, which can be found at the beginning of this column.)
