Imagine if you are flying as a passenger in an aeroplane that is made of materials that is totally transparent.
Here are some of the possible response that I can get:
1. Crap ...there is no such material. Current materials that are transparent cannot make an aircraft.
2. No way I am gonna be on that plane. It scares the hell out of me looking down 20,000 feet above ground level.
3. Can we have like only the top half is transparent?
4. Wow! that is a fantastic idea ...it would revolutionalised what 'flying' means.
5. Great Idea! a challenge for the material industry to come out with this material.
People who thinks about (1), I would categorically describe them as logical people that are happy with the existing. They love how flying is done now and feels that there is no more need to make it better. They do not think that most of anything needs to improve better or more needs to be done. They rather not rock the boat.
People who thinks about (2) are low risk takers or people who adopts technology and most of everything else late after people have tried it, test it and use it. Of course some percentage of this group of people will still not use it even thought people have tried it.
People who thinks about (3) are people that likes possibilities but who would like to tune that possibility to their advantage or where they are comfortable. They don't like too many surprises yet welcome those that are seemingly useful to their cause.
People who thinks about (4) are people that are constantly on the edge of challenging the norms. They love the new stuff even though it may seem risky. They are early adopters of almost anything that can be made possible and probably the first to try. They thrive on the new experience and are vocal about how the new experience will affect them.
People who thinks about (5) are the wait-and-see type. They do not specifically reject new ideas and new technologies or practices but they would rather sit of the side and see if it's possible to be done. If new development of possibilities are just around the corner, these are the type of people that will start jumping at the opportunity to adopt the technology or practices.
Social Media adopters are falls into the above categories. What is yours?
