Last week, I cleared my head of this Twitter Monetization idea I dubbed, TweetRocket. My thought was a sort of newbie Twitter directory that could help new users, while at the same time, give Twitter an opportunity to make some money off advertising, listings, etc., The goal was not to impose on my fellow tweeters - at least not by limiting their tweets or current functionality like some bloggers out there had suggested.
I saw a tweet from Evan Williams, Twitter's Co-Founder and CEO Monday night and decided to pitch him one last time on the concept. Much to my surprise, @ev responded with this tweet:
"@pitchengine i like it. it's consistent with ideas we've been working on here. thx for writing it up."
The good news is, Twitter is addressing their revenue generation challenges with users in mind. This further reinforces my belief that this 'social media thing' we're all in love with is really something special. Together, we're building the face of the social web. Tell me you're not inspired.
