You may be posting along the lines of some well-known Instagram cliches (people can handle only a finite number of cats, manicures, and "Outfit of the day"...). On the other hand, maybe you just picked the wrong filter. It's the superficial stuff - lighting, whether or not you're making a duckface in your selfie - that can sometimes make all the difference.

- Give us more background, less close-up (29 percent more likes).
