Augmented and virtual reality technologies are set to change the way we communicate, stemming into various forms of common interaction. But how will they really change our day-to-day lives, and what impact will each have, specifically, for marketers?
That's what Facebook sought to find out in a new survey - to gain more insight into projected AR/VR adoption and trends, Facebook commissioned a study of over 11,300 people across 11 markets, and talked to internal experts who are shaping these technologies. Their research uncovered some interesting insights, including:
- 65% of people surveyed anticipate that VR will become a part of daily life
- 63% of those surveyed are interested in using VR to view products without having to visit physical stores
- 47% agree that VR will be considered as real as the physical world
There are various other insights in the full report (which you can access here). In addition, Facebook has also created an infographic summary of the key findings.
