As technology has advanced, so too has our capacity to share more engaging, visual content, with the introduction of camera phones marking a major step. That, in turn, has increased people's expectations. Now, if you're not using visuals, they can easily scroll by to the next post that's more enticing.
What's more, standing out in ever-busy social feeds has become another key challenge. Tweets with images perform better, tweets with video perform better than that, while Instagram, which is entirely visual-focused, is currently the fastest growing of the major social networks.
Utilizing the tools at your disposal, and creating stand out visual content, is more important than ever - but it can also be easier said than done.
