I remember hearing something a while back that went something like:
In every situation there could be a "Yes" meaning things turned out the way we planned
There could be a "No" meaning things didn't turn out the way we planned
The most important thing is "The Lesson" meaning what we take from the situation.
In today's podcast, I offer 6 areas for you to question in order for you to truly own some valuable lessons.
1) New Accounts: Why did they choose you over your competitors and don't give me that BS that you already know why. Until you ask them, you will never truly know. I offer a cool reference technique that you can use with the new accounts you bring in.
2) Existing Accounts: Why do they buy from you? What do they like and what could you be doing better? Are you willing to ask this question or do you bury your head in the sand assuming No news is good news?
3) The "No's" you get along the way to a "Yes". In this context, we explore what you can learn from those who decided to go with your competitor over you (the nerve of them)!
4) Questioning Yourself Immediately After Your Appointments: We get into why I look at my appointments "suspiciously" We even get into what to do after you just received a "left hook" on an appointment. There's a lesson in that too dude!
5) For You Leaders Out There: There are lessons to be learned from those who are no longer with your company and from your existing employees. Have you ever asked them why they work for the company? What is their perception of the "Good, The Bad & The Ugly" of working for your company and just for the heck of it, perhaps you should know answers to the same question but as it applies to working for you.
6) Why You Need To Question The Familiar: In other words the things you do on a regular basis.
Some other things to think about
* Your ego and how it can get in the way of "The Lesson"
* How this process builds strength
* How a journal can reinforce this process
