This week I moderated another Social Media Today webinar as part of their Best Thinker webinar series, this time on the topic of: Pilot to Deployed: Employee Advocacy Is How You Scale Social. This webinar was sponsored by EveryoneSocial and featured Brian Fanzo (@iSocialFanz), Change Evangelist & Digital Social Biz Strategist at Broadsuite; Mike Bailey (@greykite), Managing Consultant at Grey Kite Resources; and Lauren Friedman (@lauren_hannah), Head of Social Enablement at Adobe. We discussed how organizations are both allowing and encouraging their employees to be social media brand champions for their organization on their own social media sites.
Here are 3 of the key takeaways:
- 1 in 2 employees are ready to be advocates - the data from a recent Weber Shanwick study shows that 47% of employees are "ready to be" advocates and moreover 21% of employees consider themselves already advocates of the company which is good news for anyone looking to launch an employee advocate program.
- Get your CEO to give recognition to an employee over social channels - Wanna get your employees talking about your new employee advocacy program? Just get the CEO to give some "attaboys" and "nicely done" kudos to your employee base over social media - that's sure to get them talking!
- Capturing the value try Screenshots of Awesomeness - Showing value is not a new problem so why not be prepared for the question and take screenshots of moments that happen in the social sphere as they happen? This way when you get the question you are prepared to show them!
