This week I moderated another Social Media Today webinar as part of their Best Thinker webinar series, this time on the topic of Real Talk about Real-Time Marketing. This webinar was sponsored by Spredfast and featured; Jeff Baker (@bakeruga), senior director of brand experience at Arby's, Brian Ryerson (@LifeOfBrianNY), digital strategy manager at US Tennis Association and Chris Kerns (@chriskerns), director of analytics and research at Spredfast. We discussed how these brands and others are using real time marketing to build their brands!
Here are 3 of the key take-aways:
- Real Time Marketing Isn't About Headlines, It's About Performance - Chris showed us the #BreakTheInternet campaign and how 11 brands jumped in using their real time marketing skills and rode that campaign for an increase in retweets (over 5000%) and in favorites (over 3800%).
- Define your voice and stick to it! - Jeff talked us through how Arby's create its own unique voice in social and how he uses that voice across his team and in his real time marketing efforts to be nimble and fast.
- Speed to market - Brian mentioned UGC fan content and live action video play all have to be posted within seconds to keep engagement levels at a maximum.
