Given that San Francisco is notably larger than Baltimore, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at their social communities. The 49ers have a 25% and 22% lead on fans and followers on Faceook and Twitter respectively. This mimics the difference in city population (San Francisco has 24% more residents). When it comes to Google+, the discrepancy is much larger. Baltimore has just 5k followers while San Francisco has 65k. My initial reaction was that San Francisco must be ahead of the curve with all those tech savvy Silicon Valley residents. After doing some research, I found that the 49ers are actually average in terms of their Google+ following. The New England Patriots have 735k followers, to lead all NFL teams. The Ravens find themselves towards the bottom. Only a handful of a teams have less followers.
