TikTok has revealed its European BookTok bestseller of the year for 2026, based on in-app discussion and in-store sales.
Author Rebecca Yarros was the recipient of this inaugural honor for her novel “Fourth Wing,” with the award based on research conducted by Media Control.

As per the above image, author Chloe Walsh had two books appear in TikTok’s top European bestseller list — “Binding 13” and “Saving 6” —, alongside “Heated Rivalry” author Rachel Reid and “The Mistake” author Elle Kennedy.
The list underlines the genre focus of the BookTok community, with significant community interest in commercial fiction. The platform said it drove 50 million book sales in the EU in 2025.
TikTok has played a significant role in modern books and reading trends, with the platform also releasing the findings of a new report, conducted by Qualtrics, which explored the impact that BookTok trends have had on readers.
Based on a global survey of more than 5,000 TikTok users, the data showed that 4 in 5 readers aged 16 to 39 on TikTok have become more interested in reading over the past few years. TikTok users also said the platform helped them discover new book genres, while 49% of overall BookTokers said that TikTok has inspired them to buy a book or audiobook.

The data reflects the rising influence of TikTok as a driver of cultural trends, with the app becoming a key hub for discovery and connection.
As such, it’s also a key consideration for marketers looking to boost interest in creative works, with TikTok users seeking out recommendations for books, music, movies and more.
