YouTube announced a significant expansion of its U.S. shopping affiliate program, with creators now able to tag Amazon products in their videos, and earn commissions from related sales activity.
YouTube’s shopping affiliate program lets eligible creators tag products in their video clips. Creators then earn commissions from any resulting sales.

YouTube launched the program in 2022 for creators in the U.S., then expanded it to Thailand and India as well. It announced a further expansion of the program to U.K. based creators earlier this month.
And now, eligible creators can also choose to include Amazon products in their clips.
As per YouTube: “You can tag products from Amazon directly in your videos, Shorts, and livestreams. When you tag your favorite Amazon items, your audience can discover and purchase them directly from Amazon. This helps you maximize your channel earning potential compared to description links.”
In order to tag Amazon products and earn commissions, creators will need to be signed up to both YouTube’s shopping affiliate program and Amazon’s influencer program. Creators will also have to link their YouTube channel to their Amazon profile to enable earnings.
YouTube said that Amazon will provide YouTube creators with a curated catalog of products that are eligible for YouTube tags. Program participants will also be able to request the addition of products that are not included.
Creators will also be able to enable auto-tagging of eligible Amazon products.
The expansion provides another way for creators to make money from their YouTube content, and can drive significant results.
“In a July 2026 experiment, videos using YouTube Shopping product tags alone saw over 110% more clicks on products than using description links alone, helping you maximize your earning potential from every video,” YouTube said.
Amazon product tags, then, could be a valuable addition, helping drive more sales activity in the app.
