Partly in response to the volunteer work my wife has been doing here in Alexandria, Virginia I've been researching the availability of banners and widgets published by nonprofits and volunteer organizations.
Banners are the clickable images or text blocks that many web sites display that are published and distributed as part of an advertising or promotional campaign. Widgets are small software applications you can add to a web page that can be used to access or display data managed elsewhere on the web.
