I've listed several "PR Rules" over the last few years including:
- Rule #213 - Never..NEVER...Put a Fake Funny/Ironic Quote in a Draft Release
- Rule #2 - All mics are on
To this I would like to add Jeremy Wagstaff's "PR Note #273 - When you get a new client Google them."
He goes into much more depth on the pain that caused this note, but believe me I completely understand where he's coming from. It's not when you get a new client, it's when you're pitching a client, or you move onto a new account, it's just doing your job. Our job isn't rocket science but a big part of it is reading. If we can't even do that, we're screwed.
Also, on a somewhat related note, if you are going to try and call Jeremy, please remember he is in Singapore. Very, very significant time difference.
