Holidays are a very special time for entrepreneurs, and if you do not use its opportunities for your own profit, you must be missing something in business trends. Each season brings its own opportunities, of course; however, there are some general ones that can be taken advantage of at any holiday at all, from Christmas to Thanksgiving.
A Chance to Go Viral
There might be no precise recipe of how to create a piece of content that will go viral. However, holidays offer you an incredible possibility to go beyond your limits and do something creative. Shoot a video, take an interesting set of photos, draw a comic that will somehow promote your product or service. People love to hear stories - so try and think on something truly entertaining. Permeating your creation with the spirit of holidays plays the main role in getting it to go viral.
Emotions, Please
Most people only pretend to make decisions rationally - in fact, they are driven by their emotions first and then they simply try to justify what they've decided from a rational point of view. Holidays, as a matter of fact, increase the power of emotional influence, so make sure that your holiday marketing strategy aims for your customers' emotions. Make sure to emphasize the importance of values that are fit for specific holiday (for Christmas that would be the necessity of a place one calls home, family values, friendship and the faith in wonders).
Games are Games
Holidays are the best time to reach out to your target audiences and get them to interact with you. This is the time when you launch contests with various prizes, create games and challenges, and make your whole marketing campaign more about fun than about straight business. Remember - there is basically no need to spend much of a budget on launching some kind of entertaining activity. Sometimes there is even no need for prizes - but that's in the case that you've managed to create a game where the process of playing is interesting enough to pay itself off.
The More, the Better
The problem with many entrepreneurs (and it doesn't just go for the holidays) is that they fail to provide their customers with a decent marketing campaign through all possible channels. You want your games/articles/videos/discounts/special offers or whatever it is that you decided to prepare for the clients to reach them - so please make sure that you offer equal access to the information to different users.
Don't Forget the Old Tricks
Some people get carried away with the new opportunities, opened by a particular event or a holiday, and slip up due to the lack of attention to things that should be accomplished on a regular basis. Don't forget to work on your SEO, write guest posts, and post ads on social networks. Bear in mind - holidays offer additional opportunities, but you cannot simply throw away all of your previous work for the sake of temporary advantage.
Don't miss these new opportunities, stay reasonable and your business will enjoy the holidays no less than you will!
