Strike a Chord: Lessons for Making Your Web Content Resonate
After two years of creating a steady and somewhat massive stream of content to promote my business, I decided to share many of my most successful creative strategies. To do so, I created "Strike a Chord: Lessons for Making Your Web Content Resonate."
The free 40-page eBook showcases some of the guest posts, SlideShare decks, webinars, infographics, podcasts, event presentations, and eBooks that have generated traffic and conversions and realized the many benefits of a well-executed content marketing strategy. Each chapter reveals the creative strategy at work, briefly explains the thinking that went into the piece, shows what the content looks like and offers a link to see/hear/view it in its entirety.
All told, there are 17 lessons, which I believe contain valuable ideas you can apply to your brand's content marketing efforts. Here a handful of them featuring articles I've done for Social Media Today.
A Mighty Metaphor
With this excerpt I explain the power of the metaphor, more precisely, the curiousity inducing unusual metaphor. Read "Your Website is a Mousetrap and Your Content is the Cheese" here.
Challenge Convention
I always encourage web content writers to speak their minds, have a strong point of view and lay it down fearlessly. This article invoked a whole lot of "hell yeah's," but ruffled some feathers too. In other words, it worked just the way I wanted it to.
You can read "Don't Tell Me You're a Thought Leader-Just Be One" here. And feel free to comment.
Drop a Big Bomb
Should you sling superlatives around in an effort to get clicks? I say no. However, as I explain in this chapter, if you can make a big promise and deliver, go for it. Read "The Most Effective SEO Strategy of All Time" here. (It just so happened it is my most effective article to date-or at least it's my most read-genarating over 15,000 page views and thousands of social shares.)
Help Yourself to the Rest of 'Em.
As I said, there are 17 lessons in all including examples of content types beyond blog posts. I invite you to download your free copy now.
